GOLD VEINS IN BABY BLUE documentary (2025 - unreleased)

This documentary explores how Kuala Lumpur’s Central Market transformed from a wet market facing demolition into a thriving cultural and commercial hub. Through firsthand perspectives from those who shaped, witnessed, and were shaped by its transformation, it reveals how thoughtful redevelopment and public-private collaboration turned a heritage landmark into Malaysia’s most successful model of adaptive reuse.

The music video tells the story of a working adult navigating life while keeping one foot in his childhood. The song touches on yearning for our younger selves and doing our best to keep our heads above water while facing the challenges of adulthood.

After the passing of Takung, an old Dusun Christian lady, her death was mourned by her family and the villagers. However, there are some parties who claimed that she had embraced the islamic religion before she dies. This has brought a conflict between Takung's family and those who are responsible to arrange the burial ceremony whether to bury her as a Christian or as a Muslim.

THE SCRIPT
Mamak restaurant is something that is very relevant to all Malaysians from every sort of background. This short film tells a story of a man’s life journey from young adult till old at a Mamak restaurant. This film uses foods that are related to every citizen of Malaysia no matter what race they are such as Roti Canai and Teh Tarik as symbolic of the man’s life from his single life till married then when he gets old.
